MIDLANDS CONTINENTAL CLASSIC F.C. RULES

1-That the club be called the Midlands Continental Classic F.C. with H.Q at the Secretaries Address.

2-That the club shall be affiliated to the Royal Pigeon Racing Association & shall be bound by the rules in force in that body.

3-The club shall be open to members of the West Midland Region & the western Region of the Royal Pigeon Racing Association who's lofts are situated within the boundaries of 325 miles to 420 miles flying from Nantes ( Code 5031 ) Sections of the club shall be in three Bands within the following boundaries.
    Section A 325 miles to 360 miles
    Section B 360 miles & 1 yard to 390 miles.
    Section C 390 miles & 1 yard to 420 miles.

4-The entrance fee shall be £5.00 payable when the person applies and shall be payable by each and every person accepted for membership.( Partnerships to count as one member ) Annual subscriptions shall be £18.00 R.P.R.A. Subscriptions extra. All Subscriptions must be paid before the 1st February each year.

5-Once in each year the club shall hold an Annual General meeting. The business to be conducted will be the adoption of accounts, the election of officers, to consider any alterations and amendments to the domestic rules and authority to destroy unwanted papers, in accordance with R.P.R.A. standard Rule 155. A. further General meeting shall be held for the passing of the race programme.

6-The officers of the club shall consist of President/Chairman, three vice-presidents, Race Secretary, Administration Secretary & treasurer

7-The entire Management of the club shall be vested in the committee which shall consist of not more than eight members from each section. Five to form a quorum.

8-That the Committee shall decide all Race dates

9-In the event of equality of votes the chairman shall have the casting vote.

10-The committee shall have the power to suspend, exclude or expel any member on having proof of misconduct or wilful violation of rules. Any member suspended, excluded or expelled shall forfeit all claims to prizes, pools, entry fees and the property of the club. ( Subject to appeal in writing to the Club or the Royal. Pigeon. Racing. Association. )

11-Competitors must furnish to the secretary flying distances as supplied by the R.P.R.A All competitors must fill in on race entry form their correct measurements as certified by the R.P.R.A From the race point to the loft location, otherwise they may be disqualified

12. Trophies for each Race winner will be flown for Annually

13. That the Club holds Four Old Bird Races Flown from the Channel With the 1st Old Bird Race to be flown from lessay ( Code 5073 ) 2nd Old Bird Race to be flown from Fougeres ( Code 5064 ) 3rd Old Bird Race to be flown from Messac ( Code 5029 ) 4th Old Bird Race to be flown from Saintes ( Code 5042 ) & Two Young Bird Races, 1st Young Bird Race to be flown from Portland ( Code 4088 ) & The 2nd Young Bird Race to be flown Lessay ( Code 5073 )

14-The Committee will take every care of the birds, whilst in their charge it must be clearly understood that all birds are entered entirely at the owner's risk from the time they leave their hands
Birds suffering from any disease or physical disability whatever will not be accepted.

15-Should any dispute arise as to distance, rate of speed, identification of birds or any other cause in connection with races, its settlement shall be left in the hands of the committee. Any member who lodges an objection must do so in writing within seven days of the publication of that result in the fancy press. Along with a £5.00. Fee, returnable in the event of the appeal being upheld by the committee

16-In the case of disqualification all prizes and pools to which the bird or birds so disqualified might have been entitled shall be forfeited.

17-The Races to be flown on the system of velocity proper, All races will close when the velocity falls below 240 yards per minute.

18-Hours of Darkness to be from 10.30pm until 4.30am for the first three Old Birds Races & from 10.00pm until 5.00am for the longest Old bird Race Hours of Darkness to be from 08pm until 6.30am for Young Birds

19-Race Fees & Pools are not refundable to members whose birds fail to arrive for marking.

20-In the event of Prize or Pool Money not being won through insufficient arrivals at the close of the race, all the said Prizes to be divided among the successful competitors equally and Pools to be divided among the successful competitors equally in pools entered. Any Pools not won be returned to the members who had entered these Pools, less the 10% administration deduction.

21-Each competitor shall be issued with a two part entry form for each race. To be eligible for a race a competitor must complete the Part B cash summary, which together with all race entry fees must be received by the secretary or a nominated official by the Monday prior to the race, or posted first class and bearing a post mark of on or before the Sunday prior to the race. Part A must accompany the birds to the marking station. Entry forms not completed in full may be liable to disqualification.

22-Pools shall be optional. Open & Section Pools will be as follows; 50p £1 £2 £3 £4 £5 £10 £15 £20
One prize will be paid for every 15 entries in each series 50p to £10 ( After 10% deduction to the club )
One prize will be paid for every 10 entries in each series £15 to £20 ( After 10% deduction to the club )

23-That the Club holds a Gold Ring Race, Run in conjunction with the Young Bird Picauville Race ( Code 5038 ) Rings to be limited to 10 Rings per Flying Loft & or Address, Cost of Rings to be £6.00 per Ring. These Rings are to be purchased from The Midlands Continental Classic Flying Club, for the sole purpose of being Gold Rings. Committee to decide Prize Allocation, after 10% deduction for Club Funds

24-Number of birds entered by each member to be recorded on the Race Result.

25-The President, Secretary or an appointed deputy shall have the power to verify any bird to its loft. The bird must be liberated at a distance of no less than 50 yards from the racing loft, to where the bird must return to the satisfaction of the verifier.

26-The club shall charge a fee of £2.00 for marking

27-The first 50 birds in the open result of each race shall receive a diploma plus any bird taking a position in the first 20 of each band not appearing in the first 50.

28-Competitors shall provide their own dials And must ensure their Clock is clearly labelled with their name and address. Verification cards must be completed in full and given to the Clock Station Officer when returning the Clock for checking.

29-At any time, while a clock is under seal, the Secretary or an appointed deputy has the right to inspect the clock and take a recording of the time. The Secretary also has the power to call for a clock to be retained after the race by a clock officer and forwarded to the club for a subsequent test under R.P.R.A. Rules which if the clock fails, May result in disqualification from the race.

30-Within one hour of timing his first arrival each competitor must telephone the Secretary the details of his Band Number, Name, Town, Clocking Time, Ring No of the bird, Failure to carry out this procedure May result in disqualification, Competitors must not ask the secretary for details of other competitor's arrivals.

31-Clocks must be set for competition on the day prior to the planned liberation date. In the event of a clock needing to be re-set, the clock official shall indicate this on the dial. Clocks must be checked & re-set for competition on the same day as clocking against the Master Timer to which it was set.

32-In the event of birds not being liberated by Tuesday, all clock must be returned to the clock Station for re-setting on that Tuesday Evening, failure to comply may entail disqualification.

33-All Master Timers used by Clock Stations for the Midlands Continental Classic F.C. Races must be continuous running clocks that clearly print the seconds. During the race Master Timers must not be used for any other race or purpose.

34-The officer in charge at a clock station must ensure that the dials and clock print outs from the master timer and each competing members clock along with the completed envelopes and timed race rubbers must be forwarded by hand or secure post to the secretary, so as to arrive as soon as possible after the race. Any clock station repeatedly delaying the forwarding of the required information may have its approval to be a clock station withdrawn.

35-All Clock Stations shall have an official Clock Setter and at least one assistant to verify clocking times before being sealed in the clock envelope.

36-A fee of £1.00 per clock must be paid to the Clock Station Official when the clock is handed in for setting.

37-The Midlands Continental Classic F.C. and its Clock Officials will not be liable for any loss or damage to a clock that may occur in connection with a race.

38- That all crates to have a removable, raised floor made from ½ x ½ wire mesh. This floor to be ½ above the base of the crate

39- That There will be 1 T3 Clock on each Race, £1 per entry unlimited entries per member In the event of insufficient money being taken to pay for the clock, any shortfall to be paid by the M.C.C. Club, any surplus monies are to be carried forward to the next race/s, any money left over after the last race to be retained by the M.C.C. Club

40-The Trustees shall in all respects. Act in regard to the directions of the Committee, and shall have powers to sell, lease, mortgage or pledge any Club property for the purpose of raising or borrowing money for the benefit of the Club.

41-Anything arising not provided for in these rules shall be decided by the Committee
